FLEXI HIRE
Flexi-Hire allows your business the flexibility to hire what vehicles you need for how long you need, without any long term contracts in place. Such a solution is ideal to cover new contracts and staffing situations at a fixed, known cost. We offer 3, 6, 9 & 12 month terms.
Choose our insurance or your own insurance (over 6 months it must be customer own insurance). Includes mileage within UK up to 2000 miles a month (excess mileage charged at 15p + VAT per mile). £500 / £700 / £1500 deposit dependant on vehicle. Plus VAT (excluding deposit).

Age Limits & Driver Requirements
- Drivers 21-22 years old must have a full clean license, held for at least 2 years.
- Drivers 23-24 years old must have full license held for at least 2 years, with no more than 3 penalty points in last 3 years, dependant on conviction.
- Drivers 25 years old & over must have held full license for at least 12 months, accidents & convictions permitting.
- Drivers who have been banned in the last 5 years cannot be insured.
- We ALWAYS require a DVLA license check.
- All drivers are subject to status and must agree to full terms and conditions.
General Rules
- No smoking in our vehicles.
- Refuel your hire vehicle to “full” on your return (we charge to replace fuel)
- Return your hire vehicle in a clean and tidy state (we charge to re-clean vehicles)
- You are responsible for all fines and or charges whilst in possession of the vehicle (Parking/ speeding/ congestion).

INSURANCE
Our Standard Cover
When you hire a vehicle from Ricky Fenby Hire, you can choose to use our insurance for your hire vehicle. Any rentals longer than 6 months would require you to organise your own insurance policy. If you choose to take our standard insurance policy, you would enjoy the benefits of our fully comprehensive policy which covers you the hirer, any passengers and your hired vehicle in the unfortunate case of an accident occurring. The hirer of the vehicle is responsible for the insurance excess which is detailed below.
Please ensure that you understand all the policy features and charges that you may be liable for so that you can make an informed decision about whether you are happy with our insurance or whether you want additional policies in place. We require a deposit for each vehicle hired.
The standard excess is £1000. For drivers aged 21 – 24 years the excess is increased to £1500. We reserve the right to increase the excess with each incident. Cover would default if the necessary security precautions were not implemented.
Please ensure you look at the below table which fully details what is and is not included within the policy.
All insurance policies are reliant on the hirer using the rental vehicle in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement. Cover will default if the necessary due care and attention is not taken, the correct precautions implemented or there is a breach in the Terms and Conditions.
What is Covered?
Our standard insurance covers the vehicle, full repairs to the rental vehicle in the event of a road traffic accident (excluding excess), unlimited third-party liability (including passengers and their property in the hired vehicle) and theft of your vehicle and its accessories (excluding excess).

FAQs
IS THERE A MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF MILES WHEN I HIRE? Yes. You have 500 miles per every 24 hours you hire with us. So for example: If you hire for 3 days, you get 1500 miles. Any excess mileage is charged at 12p + VAT per mile.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE OTHER THAN MYSELF DRIVE THE VEHICLE? Yes, they can but you must inform us in advance and pay an additional driver's fee. The second driver must also provide their full driving licence, post code and National Insurance number for inspection before becoming a named driver.
WHEN IS AN ADDITIONAL DAY CHARGED AT? All rentals are charged per 24 hours e.g., a 24-hour rental is one day, when a rental exceeds 24 hours an additional daily rate charge will apply.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE RETURNING MY VEHICLE? Depending on the time returned and the circumstances up-to a full day rate may be charged. If you are anticipating a late arrival, please contact the office on 01373 452020 and speak to a member of staff.
WHEN DOES THE HIRE START AND FINISH? Our standard daily hire starts from 9am of the day of hire to 8.30am the following day. Weekend hire rates start from 4:00pm on Friday to 8.30am on the following Monday.
CAN I RETURN THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION? Unfortunately, not. We require you to return the vehicle from our garage at Commerce Park, Frome.
CAN I LEAVE THE VEHICLE EMPTY OF FUEL? On handover, the vehicle will have a full tank of fuel. This should be the same when the vehicle is returned to us. However, should you not have time to refuel we will charge you for the difference, but please note that the refuelling cost will be charged to you at a rate significantly higher than the average pump price.
WHAT DO I DO IN THE EVENT OF A BREAKDOWN OR ACCIDENT? There is a contact sheet in the vehicle with telephone numbers that you may need.
CAN I LEAVE MY CAR IN YOUR CAR PARK WHILST I HIRE A VEHICLE? Yes, you can park your vehicle on site, but vehicles left remain at your own risk.
CAN THE PRICE OF MY RENTAL CHANGE AFTER MY RESERVATION BOOKING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED? No, once you have confirmed your reservation booking, the price will not change unless the booking is amended and there will be no hidden charges.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE IS DAMAGED DURING MY RENTAL PERIOD? For any damage caused, you are liable for the costs to repair the damage. You will also be liable for any loss of hire caused.
WHEN WILL I BE CHARGED THE COST OF REPAIR FOR DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE? When the vehicle is checked in and the damage has been assessed, an invoice will be emailed through to you with the total price of the damage. This will then be taken from your card or deposit shortly after.
CAN I EXTEND THE RENTAL AGREEMENT? Extensions can be agreed by phone subject to availability. A price will be discussed and taken over the phone.
HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST I GIVE TO CANCEL A RESERVATION? Cancellations can be made at any point prior to the start of the rental. 48 hours’ notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee. You can also push back the date of hire free of charge.
Please note if a reservation is not cancelled prior to the start time and then not collected, the rental amount will still be charged to the customer in full.
A returnable deposit will be required upon the collection of any vehicle at the start of your rental period. The hirer will be liable for the following charges in the event of cancellation of booking.
- More than 48 hours before booking: No charge.
- 24 hours - 48 hours booking: 50% of hire charge.
Less than 24 hours before booking: 100% of hire charge. If you make a reservation within 24 hours of your pickup time you will still be liable for the above cancellation charge.
